Women's Volleyball Travels to Compete in USM and Rhode Island College Tri-Match

Gorham, ME – Women's Volleyball traveled to the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, for a tri-match against Rhode Island College and the University of Southern Maine. The Terriers fell 1–3 to Rhode Island College and 0–3 to the University of Southern Maine. 
 

Match One – 1-3 VS Rhode Island College 

How it Happened: 

  • The Terriers opened the match strong, keeping the first set close before Rhode Island College pulled away late to win 25–18. 

  • In the third set, Rhode Island College surged ahead early, and despite solid defensive plays from Thomas, the Terriers dropped the set 25–14.

  • The fourth set was competitive, with both teams exchanging points and key plays at the net, but Rhode Island College closed out the match 25–21. 

  • The Terriers combined team blocking and digging to keep rallies alive throughout the match.

Match Two - 0-3 VS University of Southern Maine 

How it Happened: 

  • Southern Maine jumped out to an early lead in the first set, and despite solid defensive plays from the Terriers, the set ended 25–18. 

  • The Terriers stayed competitive in the second set, keeping the score close with timely kills from Lebel, Jordan Child, and Pool, but Southern Maine pulled away to win 25–20. 

  • Thomas rallied in the third set, trading points with the Huskies and showing strong teamwork at the net and back row, but Southern Maine closed it out 25–23. 

  • Thomas had balanced offensive contributions, with multiple players recording kills in each set. 

  •  The Terrier defense remained active throughout, including digs from Camille GibsonZainab Albraihi, and Pool, keeping rallies competitive. 

  •  Team blocking efforts from Marissa Cates, Bills, and Child slowed Southern Maine at key moments. 

  • Despite the loss, Thomas continued to battle in each set, keeping the match competitive until the final point.

  • Women's Volleyball will be back in action when they take on Maine Maritime Academy at home on Thursday, October 16th. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
