How it Happened:
- Both teams traded points to begin the first half, but it was the Terriers who broke away five minutes in.
- This was in part from an 8-3 run and a 6-0 run shortly after thanks to Yorke, Parker Desjardins, and Ruelke.
- Despite consistent points coming from the Fighting Tigers, the Terriers remained consistent, matching almost every point to make it 28-19 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
- Despite another good run from the Terriers to grow their lead to 20 points late in the first half, the Fighting Tigers went on a seven-point streak to give them momentum going into the second.
- Three pointers from Desjardins and Luke Briggs in the first minute of the half saw the Terriers gain back their sizable lead to make it 55-38.
- Both teams traded baskets for the next few minutes, but the Fighting Tigers were beginning to make ground to get themselves back into the game.
- With eight minutes remaining in the second half the Fighting Tigers scored nine straight points to cut the Terrier lead to just six, at 67-73.
- The Terriers responded in a big way with seven straight points of their own, with five of those coming from Ruelke.
- However, Fighting Tigers continued to battle, and clawed their way back to make it a one possession game with less than a minute to play.
- With three seconds on the clock the Fighting Tigers scored a layup to tie things at 85-85, meaning both teams were headed to overtime.
- Both teams were tied at 88-88 with two minutes to play in the first overtime period, but then the Fighting Tigers went on a 5-0 run to make it 93-88 with 44 seconds remaining.
- With less than a minute, Briggs took over, hitting a tough layup in traffic to cut it to 90-93.
- On the next possession Briggs made a diving effort into the table to steal the ball, got right back up, and hit a massive three point shot with 13 seconds left in the first overtime to tie it at 93-93.
- The Fighting Tigers missed a layup in the final possession, meaning we were headed to a second overtime.
- With the momentum generated by Briggs, the Terriers went on a 9-2 run to give them a 102-96 lead with less than a minute remaining.
- The Terriers were able to knock down their free throws in the closing seconds, and earned an impressive 106-97 win over the Fighting Tigers.
- In the win Camryn Yorke recorded the first triple-double in his collegiate career.
