Presque Isle, Maine – Men's Basketball were defeated by the University of Maine Presque Isle Owls in a North Atlantic Conference match on Friday, January 24th. The final score was 67-84. 

Records:  

Thomas: Overall (7-10), NAC, (4-5) 

UMPI: Overall (15-3), NAC (7-1) 

How it Happened: 

• The Terriers would start the first half strong, going on a 9-4 scoring run in the opening minutes of play thanks to Luke Briggs, Spencer Minihan and Camryn Yorke. 

• But the Owls would be quick to respond to the Terriers pressure, going on an 8-0 run of their own just minutes later to reclaim the lead. 

• The Terriers would be quick to reclaim the lead midway through the first half, thanks to Parker Desjardins and Jackson Ruelke knocking down three consecutive shots from beyond the arc. 

• Briggs, Minihan and Jacob Bouchard would each contribute with points late in the half, but a late scoring run from the Owls would put the Terriers down 36-37 heading into halftime.  

• The Owls would start the second half with momentum, opening the first few minutes of the half with an 8-0 scoring run. 

• Ruelke, Yorke and Loki Anda would cut into the Owls lead midway through the second half to make it 50-58 heading into the final ten minutes of play. 

• But the Owls would be quick to respond again, going on another scoring run minutes later to extend their lead. 

• Ruelke Briggs and Yorke would attempt to spark a late comeback for the Terriers in the final minutes of play, but the Owls would ultimately hold on to hand the Terriers a 68-82 conference road loss.

The Terriers will look to bounce back on Saturday, January 25th, traveling to Fort Kent, Maine to take on the University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals in a non-conference match up. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 PM.
