Castine, ME – Women's Basketball fell to the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners in a North Atlantic Conference match up on Wednesday, January 15th. The final score was 36-64.

Maine Maritime Academy: Overall (12-3), NAC (6-0) 
 

How it Happened:

• Elena Alderman and Yaribel Pena would put the Terriers up early in the first combining for a quick 5 five points.
• But the Mariners would close the quarter with a 13-2 run to put the Terriers down 12 points after one quarter of play.
• Buckets from Sky Kubwalo and Pena would give the Terriers some life early in the second.
• But another strong quarter on both ends of the floor from the Mariners would put the Terriers down 12-36 at the half.
• The Mariners would continue to stay hot in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 10-0 run. 
• Kubwalo and Holly Loring would combine for eight points to close the quarter, but the Terriers would find themselves down 20-54.
• Seven different Terriers would score in the fourth quarter, helping to outscore the Mariners 16-10.
• Despite the late scoring run, the Mariners would ultimately hold on to hand the Terriers a 36-64 North Atlantic Conference road loss.

• The Terriers will look to bounce back on Saturday, January 18th, hosting the Lesley University Lynx in a North Atlantic Conference match up. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 PM at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
