Women's Tennis Drops Competitive Doubleheader to SUNY Delhi

Delhi, New York - Women's Tennis played a doubleheader on Sunday, September 29th for an important conference match up. Both match ups were very close, but in the end the Terries fell bot matches 5-4.
 
Match #1:
Doubles:
The Terriers started with Libby Forgues and Taylor Juhase as their #1 doubles, they took on Hannah Shafer and Juliana Plue, the Broncos won the first match up winning 8-4. At #2 doubles Lily Daigle and Maya Gammon matched up against Hallee Bodo and Alyssa Gregorius, this one sided match ended 1-8 in favor of the Broncos. However, at #3 doubles Ceileidh Harnum and Tracy Lopez gave us the first Thomas win on the day, ending their match 8-1 against Virginia Savage and Samantha Miller.
 
 
Singles:
Daigle played the #1 singles for Thomas, dropping 1-6 and 2-6 in her match. Forgues at #2 singles played well keeping Thomas alive winning 6-3 6-4. At #3 Juhase played a long nail bitter but, in the end, losing in a third set, sets fell in this order 7-6, 6-4, and 6-4. At #4 singles, Lopez lost her sets1-6 and 1-6. However, the girls still finished strong #5 Maya Gammon winning 6-1 and 6-2, followed by Harnum, winning her #6 singles match 6-3 and 6-2.
 
 
Match #2:
Doubles:
The same match up at #1 doubles ended with a different outcome, Forgues and Juhase turned the tables and won 8-5. #2 doubles of Daigle and Gammon however ended the same losing 1-8. The #3 doubles duo of Harnum and Lopez shut their opponent out and won 8-0.
 
Singles:
Teams decided to only play eight game pro sets for singles compared to the usual best two out of three sets. #1 singles Daigle had similar results and lost 3-8. Forgues at #2 followed her lead dropping 3-8 as well. In the #3 spot, Juhase played well and came close and only lost 6-8. Lopez lost in similar fashion with a 3-8 set score, giving Broncos the win. #5 singles Gammon swept her opponent 8-0 resulting in a strong win. Harnum at #6 ended the doubleheader getting an 8-2 win, she ended her day undefeated against the Broncos!
 
What's Next:
The Terriers are on the road for a conference doubleheader against the Husson University Eagles on Saturday, October 5th at 11am and 1pm.
