Weston, MA – Women's Volleyball began their season with a thrilling match in a doubleheader against Fisher College and Regis College on Friday, August 30
th, 2024. The final scores were 2-3 against Fisher College, and 0-3 against a talented Regis College squad.
How it Happened:
Game One – Fisher College:
- Fisher College started off the first set with a 5-0 lead, but the Terriers were able to fight back toward the end, making it 18-19 thanks to a kill from Kenn Zarger and Jordan Child.
- Fisher eventually went on to win the first set, 25-22.
- The second set was a back-and-forth battle, with the Terriers at one point taking a 11-7 lead thanks to some attack errors from Fisher College.
- The score would eventually be tied at 25, but a kill from Sariah Putnam and Child ended the set with a win for the Terriers to make the overall score 1-1.
- The third set saw 25 different lead changes, but the Terriers eventually lost the set 22-25, as Fisher College took a 2-1 lead.
- The Terriers went on a run of form to close out the fourth set.
- A combination of kills, service aces, and errors saw the Terriers score seven straight points to win the set 25-21.
- The final set was again a closely contested one, seeing 16 lead changes.
- Both teams traded points until the closing plays, when Fisher College went on a 4-0 run to win the match with an overall score of 5-4.
- Despite the tightly contested loss, the newly formed Terrier squad showed glimpses of their potential for the future

Game Two – Regis College:
- The Terriers began their matchup against Regis College well, jumping out to a 7-3 lead in the first set.
- Regis College was able to respond with an 8-2 scoring run, and later scored four straight points.
- The Terriers were able to close the gap and battle back to an 18-19 score thanks to a kill from Putnam.
- However, Regis College would end the set on a 6-2 run, and the Terriers went down 0-1 in the match score.
- Mendez opened up the second set with a huge kill, but Regis College responded by scoring five straight points.
- Later in the set Regis College would score seven unanswered points, and the Terriers found themselves down 0-2.
- In the third set Regis College opened up with a sizable 17-5 lead, but the Terriers began to fight back.
- The Terriers capitalized on a flurry of mistakes from Regis College to battle back to a 22-17 score line.
- Regis College would eventually score the final three points of the match, and the defeated the Terriers by an overall score of 3-0.
