Tony Staffiere, current Associate Head Coach of the Thomas Colleges NCAA Men's Basketball program under Head Coach
Marquis Mason-Pollard, has been named Head Coach of the new National Club Basketball Association (NCBBA) Basketball program at Thomas College.
Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Christopher Parsons, is excited to offer this new opportunity for students at Thomas College. "Tony brings a high level of energy, expertise, and expectation into the gym. Having the opportunity to expand with a coach who knows Thomas and knows the game so well is a win-win situation".
Coach Staffiere will be entering his 25
th year coaching basketball. As a student of the game, he prides himself on player development and building personal relationships with all his players. As the head coach of the Club Men's Basketball program Staffiere will continue to be a major part of the NCAA Men's Basketball Coaching Staff, maintaining his role as Associate Head Coach of the program.
When asked what he is most looking forward to with the start of this new program he stated "…working with student-athletes on a full-time basis…the goal of building a team from scratch is a challenge but one that motivates me more than anything, (his goal is) to build a first-class club program that becomes the model for other small colleges around the country".
Staffiere is also the current owner and operator of C.O.R.E Values Basketball, Ltd, a basketball player development program for boys and girls grades 5-12 based in Waterville, ME. This is his 10
th year in business. The program has served over 200 players, many who have gone on to play collegiate and professional basketball.
Staffiere's official start date is scheduled for July 1
st, 2024.
