Waterville, ME – Women's Lacrosse opened the 2024 season with a hard-fought 15-8 win over Anna Maria College in tough conditions on Wednesday, February 28
th, 2024.
Alia Chasse led the way with seven goals in the Terrier victory.

How it Happened:
- The Amcats struck first with a goal five minutes into the first quarter, but less than a minute later Alia Chasse found the net thanks to an assist from Scarlett Raymond-Ayer.
- Both teams traded goals until the end of the first quarter, with Chasse scoring two more to take a 4-3 lead going into the second.
- The Amcats came out of the quarter hot, scoring a goal in less than a minute to tie things up 4-4.
- The Terriers then responded three minutes later with another Chasse goal and never looked back.
- The Terriers went on a 5-0 run to take a 9-4 lead into halftime, with goals coming from Alexandra Wallingford, Chasse, Isabella Pelletier, and Emily Wallingford.
- Within the first three minutes of the third quarter the Terriers struck twice, with Raymond-Ayer and Chasse scoring to give the Terriers a comfortable 11-4 lead.
- The Amcats were able to respond, scoring two goals in four minutes to cut the deficit to five.
- The Terriers wouldn't allow the Amcats back into the game, with two quick goals scored by Chasse and Alexandra Wallingford to take a 13-6 lead.
- Both the Terriers and Amcats traded goals in a 30 second span to close out the third quarter, with the Terriers taking a 14-7 lead into the fourth.
- The fourth quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams only scoring one goal.
- Samantha Snow scored the game's final goal with six minutes left to play, making the 15-8 score line the final result.
