Women’s Volleyball Outmatched by Eagles in NAC East Quarterfinals

Waterville, ME – Women's Volleyball was outmatched by the Husson University Eagles by a match score of 0-3 in the North Atlantic Conference Eastern Division Quarterfinals Saturday, November 9th, 2024.

Thomas College: Overall (6-14), NAC (5-3)
Husson University: (9-15), NAC (4-4)

How it Happened:  
  • Both teams traded points to open the first set, with things reaching 9-9 thanks to points from Kenn Zarger, Isabelle Adji, and Ana Romero.
  • Despite the strong start, the Eagles finished the first set on a 16-6 run to take the first set.
  • The Terriers started the second set strongly, earning a 12-10 lead thanks to multiple kills from MJ Rose and points from Zarger.
  • Much like the first set, the Eagles were able to power back and take advantage of errors to hand the Terriers a 25-20 set loss.
  • The third set was much closer, as both teams battled for every point scored.
  • Both teams found themselves tied at 14-14, with multiple players coming up with important plays.
  • The Terriers later went on a 4-0 run thanks to kills from Einy Mendez and MJ Rose to take a brief lead 24-23.
  • The Eagles were able to score the final three points of the set and walk away with a 3-0 match victory over the Terriers.
  • Despite the playoff loss Women's Volleyball had a strong opening season as a reinstated program, going 5-3 against conference opponents in the regular season.
