Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women's Tennis Goes Down in Double Header vs. Husson

Bangor, ME, Women's tennis took on the Husson Eagles Saturday, October 5th 2024, in an important double header conference matchup. Husson finished the day with two more wins to add to their record.


Match One

Doubles:

  • Keira Gilman and Libby Forgues at #1 doubles matched up against Julia Barber and Anah Albert.
  • Barber and Albert took the first match 3-8.
  • At #2 doubles Taylor Juhase and Lily Daigle took on Kayla Lockhurt and Olivia Chandler.
  • Juhase and Daigle took the lead early but ended up losing in a tie break 5-7.
  • At #3 Doubles Maya Gammon and Tracy Lopez played well but ended up losing 3-8 against Emily Doten and Joey Lynn Ramsdell.

Singles:

  • Gilman at #1 could not get much going losing 3-6 0-6.
  • Daigle at #2 played well but lost 4-6 2-6.
  • In #3 singles Forgues lost in a tie break 7-10, and #4 Juhase went down 3-6 2-6.
  • Lopez at #5 singles lost in similar fashion 3-6 3-6, and the trend continued with Gammon losing 2-6 3-6.
  • This gave the Eagles a 9-0 win in match one.

Match Two

Doubles:

  • With the same match up at #1 doubles of Gilman and Forgues against Barber and Albert, things ended with the same score of 3-8 in favor of the Eagles.
  • In the second matchup at #2 doubles Juhase and Daigle took on the former #3 doubles of Ramsdell and Doten and lost 6-8.
  • Next up at #3 doubles Gammon and Lopez took on a new matchup of Mallory Bealueau and Olivia Christensen, the change up gave the terriers the upper hand and ended up giving them a win, winning 8-4.

Singles:

  • At #1 singles Gilman played better losing 2-6 2-6.
  • At #2 Daigle struggled the second time around, losing 1-6 1-6.
  • Forgues at #3 turned the tables and took a 6-3 6-4 win.
  • #4 Juhase had a close match losing 3-10 in a tie break.
  • Lopez at #5, in similar style lost 4-10 in a well fought tie break.
  • To finish off the long day Gammon took a win for the road on nail biter winning 10-5 in a tie break.

What's Next:

  • For their last regular season match Women's tennis is on the road again versus the University of Maine Augusta on Sunday, October 6th. Match time is set for 3:00 PM.
