Waterville, ME – Women's Volleyball was downed by the Owls by a match score of 2-3 on Saturday, September 26
th, 2024.
Thomas College: Overall (5-12), NAC (4-3)
University of Maine Presque Isle: (9-13), NAC (3-4)
How it Happened:
- Both teams traded points back and forth, but the Terriers had an early advantage 14-12.
- The Terriers then went on a 5-0 run thanks to a kill from Sariah Putnam and a handful of attack errors from the Owls.
- The Terriers were able to close out the first set 25-15, ending on a kill from MJ Rose and an assist from Kenn Zarger.
- Both teams had themselves tied at 11-11 in the second set, but the Owls ended on a 7-2 run to take set two 25-21.
- The third set was the same story, as both teams traded points.
- Despite the Owls best efforts, the Terriers ended on a 3-0 run thanks to three attack errors to take set three 26-24.
- The Terriers played well for most of the fourth set, jumping out to a 15-21 lead.
- The Owls were able to battle back to win, forcing a fifth set.
- The Terriers jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the fifth set thanks to kills from Rose and Zarger.
- However, the Owls once again battled back, taking the final set 15-12 to earn a 3-2 win over the Terriers.
