Terriers Unable to Overcome Mustangs in Men’s Ice Hockey

Hallowell, Maine – Men's Ice Hockey would remain tied with the Mustangs midway through the first period but could not find an answer to the Mustangs attack and would fall Central Maine Community College by a score of 10-1 on Thursday, October 17th. 

Records:  

Thomas: Overall (0-2) 

CMCC: Overall (2-2) 

How it Happened:  

  • The Mustangs would jump out to an early lead scoring just under 5 minutes into the first period 

  • The Terriers would even the match midway through the first period with Colin Hines finding the back of the net off a Nicolas Fischetto assist  

  • But the Mustangs would score two late goals to take a 3-1 lead after one period of play 

  • The Terriers would have multiple power-play opportunities in the second and third period but were unable to capitalize on any of them 

  • The Mustangs would shut down the Terriers attack and would take control of the remainder of the match, handing the Terriers a 10-1 loss 

  • Terriers' goalie Matt D'Ortona would finish with 40 minutes in net making 24 saves off 31 shots on goal and Toby Hopsin would finish with 20 minutes in net, making 14 saves off 17 shots on goal 

What's Next:  

  • The Terriers will be back in action on Saturday, October 26th, traveling to Bolton, Connecticut to take on the University of Connecticut Huskies club hockey team. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:45 PM.
