Thebarge Clears 100 Wins as Field Hockey Dominated NEC with an 8-2 Win

Box Score Henniker, NH – Thomas Field Hockey makes a big impression taking on the New England College Pilgrims, Saturday, September 30th winning 8-2. This win gave Head Coach Andrea Thebarge her 100th win as the Terriers Head Coach. Five different Thomas players scored along with Junior Julia Reny earning four goals herself, three being unassisted. 
 
How it Happened:
 
  • After a few quick shots from the Pilgrims Thomas held strong and possessed the ball most of the quarter.
  • The First Terrier goal was scored off a penalty corner by First Year Samantha Thebarge assisted by Reny. 
  • Just over a minute into the second quarter Thomas pressure continued scoring their second goal of the game, the goal again was scored off a penalty corner, this time from Avery Herrick, assisted by Kayci Faulkingham
  • 9 shots later, another Terrier goal hit the net scored by Reny, assisted by Herrick. 
  • Just a minute later the Pilgrims scored their first goal of the game to finish out the half, 3-1 Thomas.
  • Another quick Thomas goal was scored at the beginning of the third quarter, Molly Littlefield tipped in a ball of a penalty corner from Reny, scoring her first goal of the year. 
  • A quick ten minutes later and heavy offensive possession from the Terriers, Reny scored a lone goal, making it 5-1 at the end of the third quarter. 
  • At the start of the fourth quarter NEC put their second goal of the game off a penalty corner. 
  • After that three more Terriers goal fell in, first being another unassisted goal by Reny. 
  • That was followed by First Year Paige Gilberts first collegiate goal assisted by her fellow high school teammate Thebarge, making it 7-2. 
  • Putting the nail in the coffin, Reny scored the final goal of the day unassisted, Final Score 8-2. 
 
Goalkeepers: 
 
Junior Elise Syphers played the full sixty minutes making two saves. 
 
Two Pilgrim keepers got in the game with Makenzie Anderson playing the first forty-five minutes making seventeen saves. Amy Philbin played the final quarter making two saves. 
 
What is Next: 
 
The Terriers will play their next game at Husson University on Tuesday, October 3rd at 7pm.
