LYNDONVILLE, VT - The Thomas College Womens Tennis team defeated the Vermont State University –Lyndon Hornets in both double header games by scores of 9-0, 9-0.  

Game 1 

The Terriers started strong with two shutouts in #1 (Seniors Lauren Smith and Riley Pierce) and #2 doubles (Graduate Student Renée Rossi, and First Year Tracy Lopez), defeating their opponents 8-0. First Year Maya Gammon and Senior Olivia Teague would pick up the win by default in #3 doubles as one of their opponents could not finish the match. The Terriers would go on to sweep every singles match to end the first game of the doubleheader.  

Game 2 

The Terriers would keep the pressure on the Hornets in the 2nd match of the day, with Smith and Pierce picking up their 2nd win of the day in #1 doubles by a score of 8-1.  Lopez and Rossi would follow up with a win in #2 doubles winning 8-5, Teague and Junior Ceileidh Harnum would pick up the win in #3 doubles by default. 

In #1 singles, Smith would pick up her second win of the day defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-2. Pierce, Lopez, and Rossi would also continue the winning streak, followed by Harnum who would pick up her first singles win of the year defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Zaniab Albrahari would pick up the Terriers final win of the day winning her match by default.  

What's Next:
The Terriers will travel to UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday September 26th in their final regular season match of the year.
