WATERVILLE, MAINE – The Thomas College Womens Tennis Team were defeated by the Eastern Nazarene Lions by a score of 6-3 on Sunday September 17th. Seniors Lauren Smith and Riley Pierce started the day for the Terriers in #1 doubles but fell short by a score of 8-3. Sophomores Keira Gilman and Libby Forgues lost a close match in #2 doubles losing 6-8. Graduate Student Renée Rossi and First Year Tracy Lopez took the first win of the day for the Terriers in #3 doubles beating their opponents 8-4.
In singles action, Smith and Pierce would go on to drop their #1 and #2 singles matches, but Keira Gilman would get the Terriers back on the board securing a win in #3 singles. In #4 and #5 singles, both Forgues and Rossi could not find their rhythm dropping both their matches. Tracy Lopez would end the day with a win for the Terriers, defeating her opponent 6-4, 7-6.
What's Next: The Terriers will host the University of Southern Maine Huskies in their final home game of the season, on Tuesday September 19th at 4pm.
