Bartlett helped lead Women’s Lacrosse to victory against Suny Poly

Waterville, ME – Women's Lacrosse took on SUNY Poly Wildcats at home on Sunday April 16th, and came out with a 15-7 win, giving the Terriers their first NAC win of the 2023 season. Both Lauren Bartlett and Alia Chasse had a huge impact on the outcome of today's game. Bartlett scored five goals and had two assists, and Chasse scored three goals with also having two assists in today's game. 

The Records:  

Thomas College: Overall (2-7), NAC (1-2)  

University of Maine Farmington: Overall (2-8), NAC (1-2) 

How it Happened:  

·        Sophomore Chasse scored the first goal of the day for the Terriers to tie up the game in the first quarter 1-1.  

·        SUNY Poly led for the second time of the day after Molly Burdick and Kaitlin Kopcza scored 3 goals back-to-back ending the first quarter 4-1 SUNY Poly. 

·        After the Wildcats were up 4-1 Chasse, Bartlett, Sage Brown, and Anna Chadwick came in clutch, scoring 8 goals in the second quarter resulting in the Terriers taking the lead 9-6 after the end of the quarter. 

·        The Terriers continued to keep the lead in the third quarter. Emily Wallingford, Bartlett, and Mary LaRochelle all scored to help reach the outcome of 12-7 Thomas at the end of the quarter.

·        The Terriers did not let down in the fourth quarter holding the SUNY Poly Wildcats at 7 goals, but continuing to score goals themself. With LaRochelle, Wallingford, and Chadwick all scoring their second goals of the day to reach the final score of 15-7 Thomas. 

The Goalkeepers:  

Terriers' keeper Lizzy Gotay recorded seven saves in today's game and picked up her first NAC win of the season.  

What is Next:  

Women's Lacrosse will play their next game at the University of Maine Farmington Saturday, April 22nd, start time 1:00pm.
