Women’s Basketball Drops Last Home Game to UMPI

Box Score Waterville, ME – Women's Basketball had their final home game of the 2022-2023 season against the University of Maine Presque Isle on Sunday, February 5. The Terriers dropped their final game,
 
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (3-20), NAC (2-11)
University of Maine Presque Isle: Overall (13-8), NAC (7-4)
 
How it Happened:
  • The Owls were the first on the board, and Thomas only able to land free throws in the games first six minutes
  • Thomas was able to make shots, but in the end only eleven points total landed for the Terriers, five of those being off free throws, 17-11 UMPI
  • A slow scoring second half found the Terriers down 18-31 at halftime, four points coming from First Year Hannah Coolen
  • High turnovers and missed opportunities from the Terriers expanded the Owls lead as only three points were made in the third quarter by the Terriers, all from the free throw line, 47-21
  • The further quarter was the Terriers highest scoring ten minutes, with players like Emily and Hagerty and Paige Lafrenaye taking and making shots
  • Final score did end in the Owls favor, 59-36
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Samantha Fortin grabbed the Terriers high in rebounds, ending with nine, four being offensive
  • Fortin also ended the game with three steals
 
What is Next:
Women's Basketball travels to New England College on Tuesday, February 7th to play a 7pm game against the Pilgrims.
