Box Score Waterville, ME - In a conference matchup between Thomas and Vermont State University Lyndon, Sky Kubwalo had 12 points while Sam Fortin and Bri Benecke grabbed 10 rebounds a piece to lead the Terriers to an important 49-35 win.
How it Happened:
- Hannah Isahac got the terriers off to a quick start scoring the first 7 points for Thomas
- Sam Fortin would follow that up with a couple of layups, and Yaribel Pena would follow with a 3 pointer and a layup of her own.
- The quick start gave the terriers a double-digit lead with 4 minutes remaining in the quarter, Sky Kubwalo would add a couple buckets to extend the lead to 21-6 at the end of the first.
- 4 different terriers would score in a low scoring second quarter, but tough defense would see Thomas win the quarter 12-9 and extend the lead to 33-15.
- In the second half the Terriers were able to stay fresh by rotating the lineup, no Thomas player played more than 25 minutes, and 8 different players got in on the scoring, the Terriers would get 26 points from the bench.
- The Terriers went 20-66 from the field (30%) 3-19 from 3 (16%) and 6-17 from the line (35%)
