Standish, ME - Men's Ice Hockey knocked of St. Joe's 5-4 in a hard fought battle of NECHA Conference matchup.
How it Happened:
The Terriers came ready to play from the open puck drop and jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead 1:45 into the first period on
Dylan Fortiers first of the season, assisted by
DJ Cagnina and
Michael Deveaux. Several minutes later
Colin Hines scored his first career goal with an excellent shorthanded effort finishing off the play by beating goaltender Jared McLaughlin (34 Saves). St. Joe's made it 2-1 but 30 seconds after the Terriers jumped up by 2 on a goal
Nicholas Fischetto assisted by
Cameron Tower. The teams traded goals to end the period with Nick Fischetto getting his second of the period and sending the Terriers to the locker room up 4-2. St. Joe's scored the only goal of the 2
nd period leaving the Terriers up 4-3 entering the 3rd.  A few minutes into the 3
rdÂ
DJ Cagnina scored on a power play goal making 5-3, assisted by Hines and
Jonah Bird. With 12 minutes left St. Joe's cut the lead to 5-4. The last 12 minutes were hard fought and the Terriers killed off several penalties as goaltender
Mason Snider would shut down the Monks leading the Terriers to their first victory of the season. Â

The Terriers are on the road next weekend traveling to Springfield on Saturday and Dartmouth Sunday.Â
