Box Score AMHERST, MASSACHUSETTS – The Thomas College Men's Basketball Team were defeated by the MCLA Trailblazers by a score of 66-48 on Friday, November 17th in the first day of the Amherst College Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Trailblazers would start strong, going on a 6-0 run in the first six minutes of the first half.

Junior Parker Desjardins would get the Terriers on the board, knocking down a free throw and scoring a layup early on.

But the Trailblazers would turn up the intensity on the defensive end and continued to find holes in the Terriers defense, giving them a 21-7 lead with six minutes to play in the first half.

Desjardins and Junior Mark McDonald would knock down threes on consecutive possessions to give the Terriers some life late in the first half.

Senior Kory Winch would get a steal and score off the fast break with a minute left to cut the deficit to 10, giving the Trailblazers a 29-19 lead at the half.

McDonald and Junior Jackson Rulke would get the Terriers going early in the second half scoring layups on consecutive possessions to make it a six-point game.

MCLA would answer back quickly with a run of their own, scoring 8 quick points putting the Terriers down 35-23.

The Trailblazers would continue to shut down the Terriers offense, going up 46-29 with 12 minutes to play.

The Terriers would try to find an answer with the remaining time left, but MCLA would slowly run off with the game, handing the Terriers their second loss of the season, with a 66-48 final score.
