Six Terriers Score in 8-0 Win vs SUNY Morrisville

Box Score Northampton, MA – Thomas College Field Hockey played their first North Atlantic Conference game against SUNY Morrisville on Sunday, October 8th in a neutral site location game at Smith College. The Terriers won in a big fashion with six different Terriers scoring and the final ending at 8-0. The Terriers shut down the Mustang offense allowing zero shots and penalty corners. 
 
 
How it Happened: 
  • Immediately putting a goal on the board was First Year Samantha Thebarge from a straight shot from a penalty corner with both Riley Enright and Molly Littlefield credited the assist. 
  • Just over a minute later an unassisted goal was scored by Leah Knight, her first of the season. 
  • This was followed five minutes later by another unassisted goal by First Year Kara Richards
  • Not even hitting a minute into the second quarter Junior Julia Reny scored the third unassisted goal of the day and fourth Terrier goal overall. 
  • Six more Terrier shots were made before the fifth goal was scored by Junior Grace Slenker seven minutes before halftime. 
  • Another quick goal was scored by Reny off a penalty corner, assisted by Thebarge 
  • The Terriers would go on to make eight more shots, six being on net, but none were able to sink in. 
  • To round out the day Junior Avery Herrick put in two goals within a minute of each other, both assisted by Paige Gilbert, final score 8-0. 
 
The Goalkeepers: 
Elise Syphers picked up the win for the Terriers playing three quarter before First Year Mackenzie Toner came in to finish out the game.
 
Mustangs Emmaly Noeller played the full sixty minutes and ended the game making 25 saves. 
 
 
What is Next: 
The Terriers will play on the road at Plymouth State University on Tuesday, October 10th, the game will start at 4pm.
