Men’s Soccer Bests NEC 3-1

Box Score Waterville, ME – A strong offensive push gave Thomas College the edge up in Wednesdays home match vs New England College, leaving the score 3-1. Top earners from tonight's game were Eric LaBrie and Hunter Smith both scoring a goal and snagging an assist.

How it Happened:
  • It didn't take long for the Terriers to find the net with a goal from Joshua Joseph in the first eight minutes of the game, assisted by LaBrie
  • The Terrier capitalize only seven minutes later from a cross ball from Senior Mustafa Najm headed in by Smith
  • The Pilgrims tried to lessen the score at the end of the first half, but those attempts were stopped by Junior Jayce Nielsen
  • At the sixty-minute mark the Terriers scored their final goal of the night by a beautiful pass from Smith to LaBrie
  • The Pilgrims did stop the Terriers from having a shutout with three minutes left in the game, final score 3-1
 
Goalkeepers:

Terriers own Nielsen got the start in goal, six saves, and win before being relieved by Matthew Gosselin with ten minutes remaining.

Pilgrims Ricardo Aguilera played the full ninety minutes racking up a total of five saves
 
What is Next:
The Terriers will be hosting a NAC Conference game against Suny Poly this Saturday, September 24th at 1:00pm on Smith Field.
