Baseball drops NAC Championship Game to Husson to end their season

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - Thomas baseball fell to Husson University in the North Atlantic Conference Championship game by a score of 11-7 on Tuesday afternoon at Fighting Tiger Park.

The Terriers (17-25) started strong taking a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the second, when the Eagles (24-15) scored six runs to gain a 6-3 lead. There was no scoring in the third as the Eagles would extend the lead in the fourth to 7-3.

In the sixth, the Terriers came back to tie the game at seven. Kyle Gleason (Danville, N.H.) kicked off the scoring in the inning for Thomas, drawing a walk to score a run. Tony Meza (Los Angeles, Calif.) added a single to center field to score two runs and DJ Cagnina (South Berwick, Maine) was able to get Gleason home.  Unfortunately the lead would be short lived as  the Eagles would retake the lead in the bottom half of the inning and did not relinquish the lead again.

Gleason and Cagnina both had two hits and two RBIs in the loss for the Terriers. Brad Smith (Ellsworth, Maine) added two hits and scored one run. Thomas used seven pitchers, who combined to allow 11 runs on 12 hits striking out seven and walking 11. Jake Lacroix (Berwick, Maine) picked up the loss on the mound.
