DELHI, N.Y. - Men's tennis fought hard in the North Atlantic Conference Championship, ultimately falling to SUNY-Delhi 6-3.
The Broncos started off by taking a crucial two out of three doubles points.
Liam Gould (Freeport, Maine) and
Rajhan Munnings (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) pulled out the one doubles point for Thomas at No. 2, winning by a score of 8-5.
Jose Afonso (Tenerife, Spain) and
Gabe McPhail (Windham, ME) lost a close battle at No. 1 singles 8-5.
McPhail won easily at No. 2 singles defeating Christopher Balogh 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour.
Kegan Rodrigue (Auburn, Maine) defeated Kyle Gonda 6-1, 7-5 at No. 5 singles for the Terrier's third and final point.
Thomas finishes the season 6-7 overall and 5-1 in conference, with their only regular season conference loss coming against the Broncos. McPhail finishes the year 10-3 in singles overall and 5-0 in conference. He and Afonso finished 8-5 overall and 5-0 in conference at No. 1 doubles together. Afonso finished with a singles record of 6-7 overall and 4-1 in conference.
