BANGOR, Maine - Thomas baseball was swept in a doubleheader on Thursday by Husson University.
Game One: Thomas 0 Husson 3
The Eagles held the Terriers to three hits in game one.
Lucas Harmon (Danville, N.H.),
Austin Stebbins (Farmingdale, Maine), and
Tony Meza (Los Angeles, Calif.) each had a hit for Thomas.
Zach Nickerson (Fairfield, Maine) started the game on the mound for the Terriers, going four innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out four.
Andrew Pruell (Warren, Maine) pitched the fifth inning allowing two runs on three hits and striking out one.
Jarrad Willette (Concord, N.H.) pitched the final inning, allowing just two hits.
Game Two: Thomas 3 Husson 13
Thomas jumped out to a 3-1 lead after two innings but the Husson bats came alive in the third inning, scoring seven runs. The Eagles were able to maintain their lead for the rest of the game to take game two.
Brad Smith (Ellsworth, Maine) had two hits, one RBI, and one run scored for Thomas while
Kyle Gleason (Danville, N.H.) had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Three other Terriers had hits in game two. Wyatt Thompson had a good outing on the mound, pitching the sixth inning, allowing just two hits and keeping the Eagles off the scoreboard. Meza was also effective on the mound for Thomas, coming in, in the eighth inning allowing just one hit in his inning of work.
UP NEXT: Thomas will host NVU-Lyndon for doubleheaders on both Saturday and Sunday. First pitch for Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m. while first pitch on Sunday is scheduled for noon.
