Men's lacrosse shoulders loss to Eagles

WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas men's lacrosse fell to North Atlantic Conference rival Husson at home 22-10 on Saturday afternoon. 
 
The Eagles opened up the scoring in the first quarter with a pair of goals. Mathew Crisco (North Haven, Conn.) got the Terriers on the board at 5:33 in the first quarter. Husson was able to find the back of the net again to take a 3-1 lead but in the last second of the quarter William Heywood (Gray, Maine) scored off a beautiful pass from Dylan Brooks (Sanbornville, N.H.) to cut the lead back down to one goal. 
 
Husson poured on the offense in the second quarter, scoring 11 goals. Jakeb Weston (West Gardiner, Maine) scored the first of Thomas' four goals in the quarter at the 12:56 mark. Max Irons (Limerick, Maine) scored two goals in the quarter, with the first with 12:01 remaining and his second one at 6:02. Crisco scored his second goal of the game and the last game of the quarter for the Terriers as Husson went into halftime with a 14-6 lead. 
 
Heywood kicked off the scoring in the second half with his second man-down goal. Husson answered 90 seconds later with a goal of their own. Irons scored the only other goal in the quarter for Thomas, as Husson went into the final 15 minutes with a 21-8 lead. 
 
Both teams' offenses quieted down, with each team only scoring one goal in the fourth quarter. Daniel MacWhinnie (Lanesborough, Mass.) scored the lone goal for the home team. 
 
Irons led Thomas' offense efforts with four goals and one assist. Crisco and Heywood had two goals each. Patrick Buxton (Portland, Maine)and Daniel Guarino (Wakefield, Mass.) split time in net for the Terriers with Buxton starting and Guarino coming in, in the second half. 
 
UP NEXT: The Terriers will travel to Colby to play under the lights at 7 p.m.
