Men's lacrosse falls to Bulldogs at home

WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas men's lacrosse dropped a non-conference contest on Thursday night to Dean College on Smith Field, 17-2. 
 
The Bulldogs jumped out to a four goal lead after the first quarter and played stout defense the rest of the first half, as they took a 10-0 lead into half time. Dean held the Terriers to just eight shots in the first half. 
 
The Bulldogs scored seven more goals in the third quarter but the Thomas defense buckled down in the fourth quarter holding Dean scoreless in the last 15 minutes. Max Irons (Limerick, Maine) got the Terriers on the board in the fourth quarter when he found the back of the net with 6:52 remaining in the quarter. He scored again for Thomas in the last minute of play as they fell 17-2. 
 
Dominic DeSimone (Millersville, Md.) led the team in ground balls with seven.  Daniel Guarino (Wakefield, Mass.) played net for all sixty minutes for Thomas, making 23 saves and registering a .575 save percentage. 
 
UP NEXT: The Terriers will host SUNY Canton on Saturday at 1 p.m.
