HENNIKER, N.H. - Thomas women's lacrosse fell at New England College on Friday afternoon 15-5 in a non-conference contest.
The Pilgrims got off to a fast start scoring seven goals in the first quarter while holding the Terriers scoreless in the first fifteen minutes.
Alia Chasse (Sanford, Maine) got Thomas on the board 45 seconds in the second quarter.
Mary LaRochelle (Woolwich, Maine) found the back of the net three minutes later for their second goal of the game but the Pilgrims stepped up their defense and didn't allow another goal in the second quarter.
The Terriers found their footing on defense in the second half, allowing just four goals. LaRochelle and Chasse scored their second goals of the game in the third quarter.
Anna Chadwick (Gardiner, Maine) added another goal for Thomas in the fourth quarter. Chadwick and LaRochelle both had seven ground balls in the loss.
LaRochelle, who is a first year, leads the team in scoring six games into the season with 17 goals and five assists. Chasse, also a first year, is right behind her with 15 goals and six assists. Chadwick leads the team in ground balls with 30 and draw controls with 23.
UP NEXT: The Terriers will host Husson University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in an important North Atlantic Conference contest. Thomas beat the Eagles earlier this season in Bangor 11-4, going on an 11-0 run in the second half.
