CASTINE, Maine - Women's lacrosse fell on the road to Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday by a score of 13-6.
The Mariners raced out to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter and were able to maintain control throughout the game.
Mary LaRochelle (Woolwich, Maine) scored the lone goal for the Terriers in the first 15 minutes.
Thomas settled down in the second quarter holding Maine Maritime to two goals. LaRochelle and
Alia Chasse (Sanford, Maine) scored the Terrier's two goals as they went into the half trailing 8-3.
Unfortunately for the visiting team, they were unable to mount a second half comeback for a second day in a row. LaRochelle both scored in the third quarter. Both teams played strong defense in the final quarter, only scoring a combined three goals.
LaRochelle led the Terriers with five goals on ten shots on goal.
Anna Chadwick (Gardiner, Maine)had 10 ground balls, six caused turnovers and three draw controls.
UP NEXT: Thomas women's lacrosse will travel to Boston on Wednesday to play Emerson at 6 p.m. in a non-conference contest.
