Terriers ice hockey extend win streak to five on senior night

HALLOWELL, Maine – Thomas ice hockey got decisive win during Sunday night's, this time against Colby Sawyer, beating the Chargers 4-1 at the Ice Vault.  The win on the Terriers' senior night extends their winning streak to five games.

Senior Ethan Scripture kicked off the scoring with just under five minutes to go in the first period, Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) and Rajhan Munnings (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) were credited with the assists, to give Thomas the early 1-0 lead. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 20 minutes as the Terriers took their 1-0 lead in to the first intermission.

Colby Sawyer tied the game up halfway through the second period with a goal by Jeremy Reardon. The Terriers answered back a little over a minute later when DJ Cagnina (South Berwick, Maine) found the back of the net, giving them a 2-1 lead.

Thomas added two insurance goals in the final period, one by Ryan Kimball (Windsor, Maine) at 14:25 and the other by Kappleman with 5:08 remaining in the game. Senior Evan Fleming (Lexington, Mass.)got the start for the Terriers, coming up with some great saves. Junior Miloslav Fuksa (Czech Republic) took over at the start of the second period and played the rest of the game for the home team.
