Women’s Basketball Drops to Monks in Tough Match-up

Box Score Waterville, ME – Thomas College Women's Basketball fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 75-41 in the non-conference contest Wednesday, December 7th.
 
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (0-8), NAC (0-1)
Saint Joseph's College: Overall (6-3), GNAC (1-0)
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers were able to start the game with great defense only allowing the Monks to score nine points in the first quarter, 9-3 St. Joseph's
  • Kristina Perry started the scoring the second quarter with a two-point jumper and Elena Alderman shooting down a three
  • The Monks kept climbing slowing increasing their lead to the Terriers, at one point being up by thirteen points, 32-10
  • Mia Henderson, Jocelyn Jordan, and Perry all contributed to more points, but the Terriers ended the first half down 34-18
  • Perry again got the scoring started for both teams in the third, Henderson was able to drop first three of the night, along with two good free throws from Chloe LaBree and four points awarded to Trea Broussard, end of third score 54-29 Monks
  • Most points in the fourth from the Terriers came from free throw by Perry, Eva-Marie Stevens, and Paige Lafrenaye
  • Lindsay Given sunk a three late in the fourth for the Terriers along with a good reverse lay-up from Charlene Butera
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Perry had the Terriers leading points with eight, along with four rebounds
  • Henderson was the nights second highest scorer breaking out in the second half with six points total
  • Brianna Benecke was able to get three steals from the Monks
 
What is Next:
The Terriers will play their final game before ending for the remainder of the year. They will host Lesley University this Saturday, December 10th at 2pm.
