Women’s Basketball Falls By Thirteen to Plymouth State

Box Score Plymouth, NH – Women's Basketball will fall to Plymouth State University 57-44, in their last away trip of the semester. Three Thomas players, Samantha Fortin, Jocelyn Jordan, and Kristina Perry were able to make it into the double digits during the game. A low scoring first quarter caused early struggle for the Terriers as they came rather close to matching points in all other quarters.

Thomas College: Overall (0-7)
Plymouth State University: Overall (3-2)
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers had a rough start to the game, as they were only able to get five points in the first quarter
  • Thomas was able to draw the bonus free throws in the second quarter and Jordan redeemed herself making both free throws after going 0-2 in her first trip to the line
  • Junior Samantha Fortin was able to grab six points for her team in the second quarter
  • Terriers go into halftime down 18-33
  • Thomas was able to lower the Panthers momentum, as Plymouth only scored seven points in the third
  • This gave the Terriers the closest trail after a quarter in the game thus far, with twelve, 28-40
  • Keira Gilman helped keep the momentum moving for the Terriers encouraging both the long pass for fast breaks and drives to the basket, she recorded four points in the fourth quarter
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Paige Fafrenaye finished the night 4-4 on free throws
  • Jordan led the team in rebounds with twelve total, three of those being offensive. She was also the leader in points for the Terriers, totaling eleven
  • Perry went 3-5 in three pointers, getting the only long points for the Terriers
 
What is Next:
The Terriers will host Maine Maritime Academy this Saturday December 3rd at 1pm in the Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
