Field Hockey Falls to NEC in Last Regular Season Game, 2-0

Box Score Henniker, NH – In the Terriers last regular season game, field hockey falls 2-0 to New England College. Many opportunities were present in the game, but the Terriers could not respond to the two goals scored by the Pilgrims in the second quarter.
 
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (6-9), NECC (3-3)
New England College: Overall (11-6), NECC (3-3)
 
How it Happened:
  • With four shots in the first quarter the Terriers had the opportunity to score but were unable to find the back of the goal, leaving the score 0-0
  • A little over two minutes into the second half, Pilgrims score their first goal of the game
  • About five minutes later NEC scored their second and final goal
  • Thomas had four more shots in the third, but nothing came from them
  • Two more attempts were made by the Terriers in the fourth, but NEC goalkeeper kept her shutout
  • Kayci Faulkingham kept the Pilgrims from going up one more goal in the fourth with a defensive save in the air
 
Goalkeepers:
Elise Syphers started in goal for the Terriers making four saves in her thirty minutes. She was relieved by Brennan Pinto at halftime, who ended the game making two saves.
 
The Pilgrims goalkeeper Jackie Mountford collected the win and finished the day with six saves.
 
What is Next:
Thomas College will wait to hear the NECC Semifinals location and opponent, to by played next Saturday, November 5th at 5pm.
