Field Hockey Surges by UMF in first Conference Game 7-0

Box Score Farmington, ME – The Terriers traveled to UMaine Farmington for their first NECC Conference Game and finished the game with a score of 7-0. Five players for Thomas were able to score, two each coming from Sophomore Avery Herrick and Graduate Student Lauren Blood.

How it Happened:
  • First goal came from Herrick less than five minutes in the game, unassisted
  • A little over a minute later First Year Leah Knight scored, pass from Sophomore Julia Reny
  • To finish out the first quarter Blood got her first goal, assist from Eva-Marie Stevens
  • With a hard press throughout the second quarter the terriers were only able to net one, Herrick's second goal of the game, along with Reny's second assist.
  •  Coming out of halftime hot, Stevens scored her first goal, assisted by Sophomore Kallee Turner
  • Goal number 6th was scored five minutes in the fourth quarter my Sophomore Grace Slenker
  • Blood then scored number seven with three minutes left in the game
 
Goalkeepers:

Elise Syphers got the start in goal for Thomas, playing the first two quarters. She was relieved by First Year Asia Dube in the third and record one save. First Year Amber Barrett finished the game for the Terriers going in the fourth quarter.
UMaine Farmington goalkeeper Alicia Bridges played the full sixty minutes and recorded nineteen saves.
 
What is Next:
Thomas will host town rival Colby College Tuesday, October 4th at 7pm on Bernatchez Field.
