HALLOWELL, Maine – The Thomas College Men's Ice Hockey team (4-7-1) got their third straight win on Sunday when they defeated Saint Joseph's College of Maine 5-1 at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault.
The Monks took a 1-0 lead halfway through the first period. Hunter Hughes (Lewiston, Maine)) tied the game at 1-1 shortly after, but neither team was able to gain the lead after the first period of play.
Rajhan Munnings (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) found the goal to put the Terriers up, 2-1. Hughes scored his second goal of the game and extended Thomas's lead to 3-1 after two periods of play.
Kegan Rodrigue (Auburn, Maine) and Ryan Kimball (Windsor, Maine) each scored late period goals to seal a 5-1 victory for the Terriers and extended their winning streak to three games.
Evan Fleming (Lexington, Mass.) earned the win in goal for the Terriers, saving 21 of 22 shots on goal.
The Terriers will play next against the University of Southern Maine at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault on Thursday, February 3 with a 8:40 p.m. face-off. Spectators are limited to the Thomas College Community but there will be a live stream for those who cannot attend.
