Women's Soccer Loses in Tough Conditions to UNE

Waterville, Maine- On a rainy Friday night the Thomas Women's Soccer Team came up short against the University of New England by a score of 3-nil.

Junior goalie Isabelle Lang (Lincolnville, Maine) was bombarded with shots all night long, saving 23 out of 28 shots on goal. This was the second strong showing by Lang, she saved all 7 shots she faced in 23 minutes against the University of Southern Maine earlier this week.

The Terriers were ready to play defense from the start against a talented offensive of Nor'Easters. They were able to keep the game scoreless until first year Tori Keyes scored a goal for UNE with less than a minute to go in the half.

The Nor'Easters were able to keep the offense up in the second half scoring two more goals. Keyes scored her second goal of the game in the 66th minute and sophomore Olivia King added their last goal in the 71st minute.

Next up the Terriers will take on Lesley University at home on Tuesday at 4:00 pm as a part of a soccer double header. The men will take on Colby College after the women at 7:30 pm. Please remember that all spectators are being asked to wear masks at home games regardless of their vaccination status.
