GORHAM, Maine - Thomas' women's soccer program fell 5-0 to the University of Southern Maine in their season opener.

Catriona Gould opened up the scoring for the Huskies 58 seconds into the game. Elise Porter and Ciera Berthiaume added two more quick goals in the first half. 

Berthiaume scored the first goal of the second half and her second goal of the game at the 70:13 mark. USM quickly added to their 4-0 lead just a minute later when Emma Forgues scored her first goal of the season. 

The Terriers were out shot 18-0 during the contest and all three goalies played well.  Junior goalie Isabelle Lang (Linconville, Maine) stopped all 7 of the shots she faced in 23 minutes. 

The Terriers next play the University of New England at home on Saturday at 7 pm. The game will be streamed on the Thomas YouTube channel for those who cannot make it to the game. Please remember that all spectators are required to wear masks at home games regardless of their vaccination status.
