Ice Hockey drops another close one

LEWISTON, MAINE – The Thomas College Men's Ice Hockey team suffered 5-4 loss to Bates College on Sunday afternoon at Lewiston Colisee. 

Rajhan Munnings (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) beat the Bobcat's goaltender with a wrist shot and the Terriers jumped to an early lead in the first period. Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) extended the lead by another goal for Thomas and the Terriers headed into the first intermission with a good lead over Bates, 2-0. 

The Bobcats started the second period strong. Bate skated hard between the blues and were able to earn two goals that period. The game was tied 2-2 at the second intermission. 

Kappelmann scored his second goal of the game in the third period and Ethan Scripture (Bangor, Maine) scored the fourth goal of the game for the Terriers. Unfortunately for Thomas, Bates was able to sneak three additional goals by Evan Fleming (Lexington, Mass.) and the Terriers loss 5-4. 

The Terriers will play next against Central Maine Community College at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault on Wednesday, December 8. The face-off is scheduled for 8:10 PM.
