Dartmouth jumped out to an early lead, 1-0. The Terriers had three power play opportunities, but they were able to score after the first period of play and the Big Green headed into the first intermission with the lead, 1-0.

Dartmouth dominated the second period of play scoring 4 goals. Goaltender Miloslav Fuksa (Czech Republic) played well for Thomas, but the Terriers accrued penalty minutes that made it impossible to generate any offense. The Big Green entered the second intermission with a comfortable lead, 5-0.
