Waterville, Maine - Thomas Women's Soccer (3-7) lost a hard fought battle late Tuesday afternoon to New England College 1-nil in a non-conference game.
In the first half, the Pilgrims out shot the Terriers 7-1 but thanks to good defense and good goalkeeping by
Lauren Bartlett (Wells, Maine), the game went into halftime scoreless.
It wasn't until the 71st minute that Shelby McBain scored the only goal of the match off of a loose ball out front, that she was able to put past Thomas goalie
Isabelle Lang (Lincolnville, Maine). Lang came in for Bartlett in the second half. The Terriers had some great opportunities in the second half to tie the game up but were not able to get it past Pilgrim goalie Emily Sasko.
