WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas College hosted the North Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships on the Sukeforth Family Trail System on Saturday.
The Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill dominated the 2021 NAC Men's Cross Country Championship, placing all five scoring runners in the top-13 including individual champion Eamonn Sullivan. The first-year finished the muddy 8K championship in 27:32.0, classmate Nick Logan earned the bronze medal (27.47.8), and the team combined for 31 points. With the win, Sullivan was named both the Runner of the Year and the Rookie of the Year. Second-place finisher Seth Bywater (27:42.7) helped SUNY Delhi finish second as a team with 54 points and three runners earning All-Conference honors.
Thomas Men's Cross Country finished 7th out of 10 teams. Senior
Jarrod Hooper (28:46.3) finished 8th overall and was named to the All-Conference First Team and Sportsman Team.
Ryan Beckerman had the second best time for the Terriers, finishing 34th.
SUNY Delhi just edged Husson University, scoring 46 points to the Eagles' 49 to win the 2021 NAC Women's Cross Country race. The Broncos placed all five scoring runners in the top-12 and ran a combined 2:01:05 over the 5K course. Husson's Ava Dowling (21:48.5) and Miranda Dunton (23:06.8) finished one-two overall, contributing to a second-place team finish with a combined team time of 2:00.13. First-year Ava Dowling also earned Rookie of the Year and Runner of the Year honors with the individual win.
Thomas Women's Cross Country also finished 7th out of 10 teams.
Sophie O'Clair (25:33.9) was the top finisher for the Terriers, placing 19th. Amanda Winslow finished 25th and
Maeghan Bernard came in 34th place.
Sarah Chadwick was named to the NAC Sportsman Team.
