Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - Field Hockey got an important New England Collegiate Conference win with a 3-1 win over Husson University on Saturday.
Thomas played arguably their best game of the season against Husson. Senior
Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine)kicked off the scoring with her 18th goal of the season, just 37 seconds into the second quarter. Teagan Blackie tied the game up for the Eagles later in the second quarter, despite opportunities neither team was able to score again in the first half.
First year
Kallee Turner (Sanford, Maine) was the offensive difference maker in the second half for the Terriers, scoring two goals in the fourth quarter. Turner scored her first goal of the game at 49:50 and then again six minutes later, assisted by first year
Julia Reny (Gardiner, Maine).
Senior goalie
Alexis Bowman (Freedom, Maine) fittingly picked up her first win of the season on senior day.
With the win, Thomas improves to 6-7 overall and 5-0 in NECC conference action. They currently sit atop the NECC standings with three big conference games next week. The Terriers will first travel to Husson for a rematch on Tuesday night before traveling to New England College and Manhattanville next weekend.
