FH: Terriers Take Down Gordon, 3-1

WENHAM, Mass. – Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored twice to lead the Thomas College field hockey team to a 3-1 victory at Gordon College on Saturday afternoon.

Gordon struck first at the 18:10 mark when Paige Blake found Megan Gordon to put the Fighting Scots up 1-0. The Terriers knotted things up in the closing minutes of the first on a Lindsey Gregoire goal assisted by Katie Taylor (Lebanon, Maine). Lindsey scored her second goal ten minutes into the second off a feed from Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine), who later added an insurance goal to push Thomas to the 3-1 win.

Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) was strong in net for the first 60 minutes, stopping one of two shots faced. She was replaced by Alexis Bowman (Freedom, Maine), who closed out the game in her first collegiate game action. Julia Altman got the loss in 56:07 of game time, before being replaced by Jasmine Rosa for the final 13:53.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Britney Gregoire's nine points over her first four games this year are the most by a Thomas player to start the season since Gabby Martell scored 12 points in her first four games of the 2016 season.
  • The win by Kruse makes her the first goaltender in program history to win her first three decisions to start the season.
  • The Terrier's 3-1 record in their first four games is their best start in program history.
