BELGRADE, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 match to Johnson State College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday at the New England Golf and Tennis camp.
The Terriers now sit at 0-4 (0-2 NAC) after the loss while the Badgers near the .500 mark at 2-3 (1-1 NAC).
Thomas stole one victory in doubles play as Olivia Mora (Surry, Maine) and Irune Arruti Moreno (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) earned an 8-4 victory on the one line.
In singles action, the two teams split singles action at three games apiece. Mora went on to win her number one match 6-4, 6-4 while Moreno earned a 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory in number two singles. On the four line, Alexis Raymond earned her first singles victory 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 (12-10).
The Terriers will play again on Sunday, September 17 as they host Lyndon State at 1:00 p.m.
