FARMINGTON, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team extended their winning streak to three games in a 70-46 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.
The Terriers improve to 4-5 (2-2 NAC) on the season while the Beavers fall to 3-5 (1-3 NAC).
The Beavers offense struggled throughout the contest as the Terriers held them to just four points in the opening ten minutes. As a team, UMF finished 13-for-65 (20%) from the floor and 6-for-23 behind the arch.
Thomas ended with a strong 42.6 field goal percentage (29-68) and out rebounded the Beavers 55-39.
Junior Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) led all scorers with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting along with three rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Karli Stubbs (Auburn, Maine) chipped in with a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds while Jordan Turner (Casco, Maine) also added 12 points in the win. Abby Nielsen (North Yarmouth, Maine) added eight points including a pair of threes.
Morgan Crocker led the Beavers as she finished with 16 points on 3-of-19 from the floor with one three and nine free throws. Freshman Kasey Talarico finished the game with nine points after shooting 50% from the floor with two threes.
The Terriers will sit idle until Friday, December 29 as they host the University of Southern Maine at 3:00 p.m.
