Reid Leads Terriers in 6-1 Rout over Husson

BANGOR, ME – Junior forward Tevin Reid (Dorchester, Mass. / Bunker Hill) scored two goals and tallied an assist to lead the Thomas College men's soccer team in a 6-1 victory over Husson in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Tuesday night.

In the victory, the Terriers earn their fourth straight win, improving to 4-2-1 (3-0 NAC) while the Eagles fall to 2-5-2 (1-1-1 NAC).

Freshman Rai Sampson (Pembroke, Bermuda / Mt. Verde Academy) put the Terriers up 1-0 early in the 3rd minute on a feed from Reid and his first career goal.  Reid tallied his two goals of the contest in the 37th and 41st minute to push the Terrier lead to 3-0.  Just before the buzzer sounded to end the first half, Kyle Fletcher (Monmouth, Maine / Monmouth) added his first goal of the season from Ibrahim Moustapher (Blantyre, Malawi / Hebron Academy).

The Terrier offense went back to work early in the second half as Willie Clemons (Paget, Bermuda / Warwick Academy) netted his second goal of the season from London Steede-Jackson (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda / Cedarbridge Academy).  Husson began to show some life as they scored five minutes after on a goal from Ian Lee.  In the 78th minute, Jeffrey Nagy (Old Saybrook, CT / Old Saybrook) finished the scoring for a 6-1 final.

Junior Drew Martin (Berwick, Maine / SMCC) earned the win in goal for the Terriers, his third straight, turning aside eight shots while Cody Gross made eight saves in the loss for the Eagles.  Husson outshot the Thomas 22-21 and held a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.

The Terriers will return to the pitch on Saturday, October 1, as they host the University of Maine at Farmington in a 1:00 p.m. NAC matchup at Smith Field.
