BANGOR, ME - The Thomas College women's cross country team placed 8th at the Husson Invitational hosted by Husson University, their first event of the 2015 season. Leading the Terriers was Amanda Cotter with her 26th place finish and a time of 24:41.

Crystal Peatfield was the second Terriers runner to cross the finish line and placed 36th with a 25:43 time.  Alyssa Maggi finished 63rd (29:36), Marissa Gammon was 68th (30:35), and Evelyn Swan placed 70th with a 30:45 finish time.

New England College Junior Abby Shafer won the event with a 20:35 time just ahead teammate Allison Granata who finished with a 21:20. Sara Tatgenhorst rounded out the top three from Elms with a 22:06.

Thomas cross country will be back in action Sunday, September 13th at New England College for the Mayflower Invitational.
