WATERVILLE, ME - The Thomas men's basketball team parlayed a strong shooting night, making 13 three-pointers in an 81-73 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington in a North Atlantic Conference contest on Tuesday night. Junior Levi Barnes had a game-high 30 points for the Terriers.

Thomas (4-7, 2-2 NAC) got off to a hot start from the perimeter, as their first six made shots all came from beyond the arc. A closely played game throughout the half, Thomas led 29-28 with 7:36 remaining in the half, and ended the first half on a 17-10 run to go into the break up 46-38.

The Terriers shot 16-28 (57.1%) from the field in the first half, including 10 three-pointers. Barnes had 18 of his 30 points in the half. Nick Hilton paced the Beavers (3-7, 2-2 NAC) with 12 points.

Thomas would stay in control in the second half, answering UMF and never letting the Beavers get within three points. The exclamation point on the victory was made with 34 seconds left, as Thomas led 77-73 and junior Adam Carlsen hit Barnes from half court for the alley-oop dunk.

Barnes led with 30, while Eric Westbrooks added 12, Justin Murray chipped in 10, and the bench totaled 17 to help pick up the win. Ian King also put in five points along with 10 rebounds and six assists.

Thomas will have a couple days off before returning to action on Friday, January 9 when they will host New England College at 7:30pm.
