Terriers Fall Against Spartans

WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas women's basketball team dropped a North Atlantic Conference match-up Saturday afternoon against Castleton State College by a final score of 70-51.  Katie McAllister led the Terriers, scoring 20 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in the game. It was McAllister's second consecutive double-double.

The Spartans got out to an early lead, starting the game on a 12-0 run before Taylor Reynolds put the Terriers on the board.  With five minutes to play in the half, Castleton's Meghan O'Sullivan scored her 1,000th career point when she hit a jump shot from the top of the key.  The Spartans used that momentum to take a 41-18 lead into the locker room at halftime. 

McAllister had seven first-half points, while Reynolds added six points of her own and Tess McClenahan grabbed five rebounds.

In the second half, the Terriers battled back and forth with the Spartans, outscoring Castleton 33-29. McAllister scored 13 of her game-high 20 points in the half, and Jordan Agger-Barnes added 11 of her 14 points in the second half.  McClenahan finished with five points and eight rebounds, while Reynolds finished with six points and six rebounds.

For Castleton, O'Sullivan finished with 17 points, while Jade Desroches finished with 11 points and Lindsay Sabo added 10 points.

Thomas will be back in action Friday, January 30, when they travel to Colby-Sawyer.  Game time is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
