Box Score WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College (3-6) women's field hockey team lost at home Wednesday evening by a score of 5-0 to Bates College (1-4). Abbie Charrier saved 10 shots on the game for the Terriers.
The Bobcats' Shannon Beaton had the touch, scoring three goals on the night, all in the first half, giving the visitors a three-goal advantage going into the half.
Bates would not be content, however, tacking on two more goals in the second half. Sydney Beres scored 15 minutes into the half to put the Bobcats up 4-0, before Claire Markonic scored the final goal just minutes later.
In net for Thomas, Charrier faced 15 shots and saved 10. For the Bobcats, Cristina Vega stopped the only shot she faced on the night to earn the win.
The Terriers will be back in action on Saturday, September 27, when they open their conference schedule against Husson at home. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Bernatchez Field.
